Case This Sketch....You are the sweetest..

Hey,

Super excited today, this afternoon I am off to do a Dina Wakely class..whoop whoop

I saw the Case This Sketch on someone's blog earlier this week and thought it was made for me..

I had the first set of 'Apple of my eye' stamps by Clearly Besotted, but I recently realised that they do a die for the apples and there is version 2 of the set...

So out came my wallet LOL.

I used a mixture of apples from the sets, I die-cut the apple shape first and then stamped, I find this works better for me with smallish things.

I mounted the centre apple with some foam tape and stamped the sentiment from the first set in two places (it is one long sentiment stamp).

Obviously I couldn't resist adding a little bit of bling :)

I loved the sketch so much I made another one -

I used Kaisercraft tape pieces stamps, Happy is by Simon Says Stamp, Birthday is by Crate Paper and the blue enamel dots are by Papermania.

I think this sketch and I are going to be best friends.

Happy Birthday Human...

Hey,

Hope you are having a fun weekend so far..

I wanted to show you another card using the fun Gerda Steiner stamp set I bought recently - my first card with it is here.

I love the sentiments that come with the set.

I used balloon dies by Papertry Ink that came from the lovely Darnell. I deliberately kept one plain, so I could add the sentiment.

I actually added a sparkly 50 to one of the other balloons before this left my desk for a friend.

Oops moment occurred when I didn't realise that the chalk marker was making spots and kept doing more, so the poor Alien looks a bit like he has measles..

No matter, oops moments maketh a card..or something.

Make 5...Umichka Challenge...Part Three...

Hey,

Happy Friday!

Why is it that four day weeks feel like forty-four day weeks?

I am currently playing along with a 5 part challenge over at Anna / Umichka's blog.

You have to use the same stamp set for each of your cards and keep the cards CAS. You can see my first card here and card two here.

To refresh your memories, this is the stamp set I am working with -
It's from the October 2015 SSS stamp kit.

Again I felt like making the glasses the focus, but I really wanted to use two other elements from the set, so I went with the chevron and a heart.

I stamped the chevron onto the die-cut panel and was most unexcited by it, so I stamped it across a bright green card blank and suddenly I was excited again!!

I added a border of green hearts above the chevron and used a Hero Arts sentiment.

To co-ordinate with the card blank and the hearts I stamped the glasses in green, before die-cutting them out.

I love it, it all came together pretty easily. I am keeping them all together to give-away when the challenge is done.

The Paper Players..Tic Tac Toe...

Hey,

The Paper Players are making me very happy this week with their Tic Tac Toe Challenge...

I went with a diagonal row..yellow, die-cut and paper clip.

The paper clip absolutely threw me and I had several aborted attempts at this card..

I am very happy with my final card and it all came together really easily in the end!!

Every thing on my card is a scrap..

The black heart and yellow spotty papers are by Lawn Fawn.

The flowers are dies by Simon Says Stamp and I love them, they make impressive flowers, I think it's the big centers that I love the most.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white to make it pop out and affixed my little spotty bow to the sentiment panel using a yellow paper clip (that just happened to be on my desk).

My heat embossing looks a bit scrappy, but hey..handmade people!!

Black and yellow, needs to be used more often methinks!

WOYWW #365.. So many reasons to be happy...

Hey,

Happy WOYWW..

As you know our fabulous leader Julia is in hospital recovering from her op, so the also fabulous Lunch Lady Jan has stepped in again so that What's On Your Workstation Weds can continue..

I had great fun catching up with many people during the Seventh anniversary last week. I didn't make ATC's, but several very sweet people sent me ones anyway..I will be send you something else in the post ladies and thank you - WOYWW spirit just making me smile as always.

So what's on my desk? Well it looks pretty similar to last week right? My art journal front and centre, waterpot (full of dirty water), tea towel for cleaning brushes and various partly made items strewn around my desk..

My journal was actually supposed to be two individual pages and not a spread..but actually turned out looking like a spread, I think it's because of the colours..

As per the title of my post today, I have a lot of things to be happy about - I just spent a really nice weekend with Hubby, chilling out in the Sun together, holding hands, drinking, eating, giving up smoking and hanging out with old friends.
My Dad is actually coming to visit us ON HIS OWN in NYC in Sept (he has not been on a foreign vacay for 30 years!!). These things all make me happy and realise how lucky I am. If you get a chance today just smile at yourself..it makes everything better :)

A few people wanted to see the Pocket Letter I had made for Nikki C. Now that I know she has it, it can be revealed!

I used a co-ordinating paper stack to cut the inserts and all the little icons are wooden and hand painted by me! I chose symbols for my two Cities - London and NYC and wrote a little story about what each one means to me on the back of the insert. There are also little tiny gifts behind the inserts too :)

I'm swapping things with a few other people, so just message me if you are up for a swap :)

Have a great day.
