CAS(E) this Sketch: Oceans of Fun...
Hey,
Happy Monday to you...
I am obviously super excitable this week, as it is my birthday on Friday and I LOVE birthdays, especially ones that fall on a Friday. I'm going to be 45 and to be honest I'm a bit in shock, where did the last like 20 years go?!
Anyway, last Friday night I had a little playdate with myself as I wanted to play with some of the NBUS I have recently acquired.
I am a big fan of CAS(E) This Sketch and this week's sketch is to die for..
So much possibility.
I decided to create blended masked stripes. I used Distress Oxides (from top to bottom - Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Faded Jeans). I love to mask off stripes, they are so easy and you get such a great look.
I chose the blue tones, because I wanted to use my new Jillibean Soup/Hampton Arts 'Whale Done' set. I have been wanting this set for ages and I finally saw it on sale at my fave Etsy shop. I LOVE the Jellyfish so pretty..can't wait to heat emboss him.
I stamped him over the stripes and added a sentiment from the set.
I think this is going to get used as a birthday card and I might even crank out a few more!!

ICAD2018 Continued....
Hey,
Happy Friday!!
I have had a bit of a rough week, busy at work and food poisoning earlier this week..
I am feeling more me now!
I loved this year's ICAD and because I bought an album to put all my cards in, it had quite a few extra pages. So I decided to play ICAD2018 Plus Plus - it is my continuation, so I can fill the album.
I have essentially created my own weekly prompts.
The first week was Sea themed.
I had a LOT of fun creating these cards.
Main photo shows you all of them, but here are some shots of my fave ones..
All a bit different.
The mermaid one, a friend commented that she loved it, so I made a card version of it for her!
Have a great weekend, I am going to be hanging with Lisette later on today and then at the gym and watching Pre-season NFL and playing at my desk for the rest of the weekend..this time next week I'll be in Tampa - whoop!

Retro Rubber #91..Feeling Sketchy...
Hey,
Welcome to another awesome Retro Rubber challenge.
We have a sketch for you this time, created by me!
The sketch and a visit to the aquarium with my Momma when she was here, inspired me to pull out a great (rarely used) set from Sweet Stamp Shop 'Eye See You' from 2016, now retired.
I did approx 5-10 test stamps of Mr Octopus, as he comes in x3 pieces - head and arms. I finally got the position I liked and stamped him for realz!
I pulled out a piece of ancient patterned paper and cut it with a new scalloped die from Your Next Stamp.
The sentiment is by Hero Arts and I added a googly eye for a bit of fun.
He is awesome and already left my desk to go to Momma, as a thank you for all the fun times we had together during her trip.
Show us your interpretation of the sketch and pop over to Retro Rubber and get inspired by the things the DT have made.
Challenge ends July 27th.
Don't forget to tell us the age of your stamp, that is part of the fun of our challenge and please only enter 10 challenges including Retro Rubber.

Tiddly Inks..Octopus Anniversary...
Hey,
Happy Saturday.
I had great fun last night at class at The InkpadNYC taught by Cheiron, great to be back with the craftgang and out and about.
Today I wanted to play along with the current Tiddly Inks challenge - Love.
I coloured their awesome Octopi My Heart stamp using Zigs and an aquabrush (and it counts as Day 4 of the 30 days of colouring).
I thought it would make a superb anniversary card, so I fussy cut out the image and stamped my new fave freebie anniversary sentiment (gift from JT).
The background I made using distress inks and a recollections stencil. I think it looks a bit like sea.
I love this stamp, it is going to get overused, it is such a joy to colour and I'm pretty pleased with my card too.
It is purely accidental that I have posted two Octopus cards in a row...

Octopus Birthday...
Hey,
Happy Friday!
I am super excited today, as I get to go to class at The Inkpad tonight..my first one in ages and the first time seeing the Craftgang since my operation.
I love the Lawn Fawn mini stamp sets. I bought the 'You Octopi my Heart' set with the plan to use it for Hubby's VDay card, but I changed my mind.
So he was all unused on my desk and that didn't seem right.
I was making some DT cards using the Simon Says Stamp wave stamp that you can see on my card and it gave me an idea.
I stamped the waves, I didn't reink my stamp, so I got a faded look.
I stamped, coloured and die-cut the Octopus..I was a bit stumped about what colour he should be and settled on pink!
Because I was planning on him being a birthday card, I thought it would be fun if he was holding birthday related items. Cue a MASSIVE search through my online stamp directory (totally geeky..) to find a present and a cake small enough for him to hold AND that had a die, because fussy cutting makes me want to barf. The gift is by Avery Elle, the cake is by MFT.
The sentiment stamp is by Concord &9th.
I am super happy with how this card came out, it means that Mr Octopus has more than 'love' use in him.
Have a great weekend
