Hi,
As you know I have been slowing down my challenge entries recently.
I've been doing this because I wanted to go back a step and make sure I was entering challenges because I liked them and not just because they were there.
Yesterday I entered a Simon Says Stamp challenge..it was all about glitter and we all know how much I love glitter!

Today I am entering the latest Card Concept #6 challenge. Since it started I've really liked The Card Concept challenge, I love the idea of being able to use different styles and having to comment on other entries and not just DT makes - it's so friendly.
I had been working with the red and white paper (Monsters & Robots by Recollections) that you see on my card for a DT make (coming up on Thurs) and thought it was a great fit for the photo inspiration.
I decided to go with Clean & Layering as my style for the card, in part because I loved the DT inspiration, but also because I wanted to layer up my scalloped circle dies.
I die-cut a white circle and embossed it (using a Sizzix spot folder), so that the Happy Birthday die-cut would stand-out. I added pearl, as it felt like it was missing something. The Happy Birthday die was a freebie on a magazine I got when I was at home.
I was so happy with my final card that I made another one in a similar style for a friend's birthday. This card has a little blingy daisy that was a gift from JT.

Hi Claire, two fabulous cards..they fit with the photo inspiration perfectly! Sending hugs, Carole Z X
ReplyDeleteI love seeing two cards made - it always reminds me how versatile our supplies are and how creative our minds can be! Amazing that by changing colours and a few minor details, you get two cards the same but so different! So glad you joined us at the Card Concept!
ReplyDeleteWay to make that die cut work over leopard print! I would have thought that was too cutesy but no, you've made him badass. Well done my friend. x
ReplyDeleteI love your "clean and layered" card which I saw at the Card Concept. Really nice colors and an excellent design!
ReplyDeleteOoh fabulous cards, I love the second one - I do like a bit of leopard print! ;-)
