Silly Monster...

Hey,

Happy Saturday to you.

I am off to Brunch today with Lisette, I am looking forward to that.

But first I thought I'd enter this weeks Color Throwdown.

I FINALLY got my Silly Monsters Two stamps by Your Next Stamp (bought from Supermart..never again) it has been a saga.

So last night I stamped, coloured and die-cut them and I think the colours for this week must have been stuck in my mind, as I unintentionally coloured one of the monsters in the green and orange (I added his spots).

I kept the background simple and used a Tim Holtz tracks stencil with Tumbled Glass distress ink.

I know the sentiment feels a bit Halloweeny, but I actually think it works for a 'girlfriend' - what do you think? Stretching it too far?

I am very happy with my card, it kind of left me with a silly monster grin on my face!

Good or Evil?

Hey,

Happy Friday.

I thought I'd show you a fun little make that I made for a friend.

When the craftgang got together Lisette gave us a load of spare stamped sentiments and the wooden mermaids, so I grabbed one of my fave mini square canvases (super handy for making random stuff) and painted it gold using a Dina Wakely paint that Cheiron gave me for my birthday.

I cut up the sentiment and attached it to the canvas using Glossy Accents, same with the Mermaid.

Super easy and hilarious. I have no doubt the friend who it is going to will love the sassy nature of it.

Have a great weekend, I am off to lunch with Lisette tomorrow and playing at my desk and watching non-stop NFL - YAY!!

Cheeky Christmas Tags...

Hey,

So I recently bought this great set by Unity Stamp Co, I saw a post on their blog and I loved the cheeky sentiments.

I love tags, so thought it would be fun to use these to whip up a batch of tags to take to JT's Mom when I visited her last weekend.

I used a large sheet of water colour paper cut into three, so I could smoosh it in distress ink.

Here's an in progress shot -

Once I finished the backgrounds, I die-cut them using xCut tag dies, kindly gifted to me by JT.

There are x4 sentiments in the set, so I stamped two of each and chose stamps that would work for what I had in mind.

Lawn Fawn Winter Critter stamp for three of them (Penguin, Bunny and Owl) and the Reindeer is by Clearly Besotted.

Because I didn't want to lose the beauty of the backgrounds I only coloured a couple of areas of the critters - works well I think, you get to see the backgrounds.

I die-cut the holes (the tag dies comes with x2 sizes of hole dies) and added navy blue ribbon - which I stupidly did not photograph.

Super easy to make and fun and cheeky too.

Tic Tac Toe...

Hey,

So last week turned out to be a fun craft related week for me.

I can't tell you about one part of it yet...soon I promise. But the other part was that I was the headliner over at The Paper Players challenge - how lovely is that :)

I thought that it would be fun to play along again this week with their current challenge #319, which is a tic-tac-toe - can you tell me if there is anyone who doesn't love a tic-tac-toe?

I chose Snowflakes, Washi Tape and Diecut for my card.

I dug out my ancient Sizzix snowflake background stamp, inked him with distress inks and spritzed him, then laid my paper over it. I love the effect you get by doing this, the snowflakes are slightly smudged and feel like they are slightly wet.

I have this roll of glittery washi tape that is seriously rationed because I can't find the colour anywhere and this shade of blue is my fave...

I used a piece of it here on my card and it's the perfect anchor for my sentiment (by Clearly Besotted) and the Sizzix snowflakes - I die-cut them in 3 different types of paper - vellum, embossed photo paper and shimmery white cardstock and layered them onto my card using mini staples.

Super simple to make and another great addition to my Christmas Card stash.
