Fusion Card Challenge - Thank You

Hey,

Welcome to another fantastic Fusion Card Challenge.

This time with have 'Thank You' as a theme. As always both the sketch and the inspiration image are awesome.

Which will you try?

I loved both, so I fused them!

I liked the idea of a 'Thank You Dog', so I used the awesome Avery Elle 'Hot Dog' set, I think this stamp with the dog carrying a gift is my fave one.

I stamped it onto a die-cut circle - the die is 'Brilliant Rings' by Poppy Stamps and Jennifer Maguire 'enabled' me to buy it last year with her 'Fave Dies of 2020' video. This set of dies get a lot of use, I love the extra detail on the edges.

I paired my image with x2 paper scraps to match the sketch and added one of my fave go to's - a simple sentiment strip by Taylored Expressions.

Love this fun and simple card.

Make sure you check out all the rest of the inspiration by the DT over at the Fusion challenge blog, and play along with your own creation! When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo to inspire your makes. OR, if you are feeling adventurous, you can fuse them together (see what I did there!).

Can't wait to see your makes.

Challenge ends on May 25th.

Retro Rubber Challenge #152 Let's get Sketchy...

Hey,

Welcome to another awesome Retro Rubber challenge.

We have a sketch for you this time, created by me!

You know how much I love a sketch!

I decided to make a Valentine's card and I just so happened to have a bunch of scraps on my desk that were the right size for the sketch. So it got a bit pink there for a moment, but I fixed that by colouring the cute Dinos blue and blending the die-cut circle in blue!

The Dinos and the top left sentiment are by Recollections @Michaels and I have had them since January 2020 (just squeaking in there..). The Valentine's Day sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp 'Pawsome Love' set and that is from late 2019.

I think the best thing about this card is that I was able to use a bunch of different dies. The fishtail banners and sentiment banners are by MFT, the hearts are from a heart confetti set by Avery Elle and circle is 'Brilliant Rings' by Poppy Stamps.

Another wonderful VDay make that went into my personal stash.

Show us your interpretation of the sketch and pop over to Retro Rubber and get inspired by the things the DT have made.

Challenge ends February 26.

Don't forget to tell us the age of your stamp, that is part of the fun of our challenge and please only enter 10 challenges including Retro Rubber.

Sending warm fuzzies...

Hey,

I wanted to send a friend who has not been too well a little card.

As she loves a Bunny, I thought why not recreate this card I made last year.

Instead of a gift in the basket, I added a bottle of wine and a glass - both by Heffy Doodle Stamps.

I also did a way better job with my cloud stenciling this time. Probably because I am totally addicted to this stencil (by Dutchdoobadoo) and have overused it since I got it last year!

The Bunny stamp and bike are by Poppy Stamps and again I added a road using Lawn Fawn stamps.

I have constantly got the Jenn Shurkus voice in my head when creating cards like this - you have a teeny tiny stamp somewhere that will be perfect for that basket.. It's a lesson she has taught me well and I totally stretch my stamps by mixing and matching way more than I did before I met Jenn (who is a legend and if you haven't been to one of her classes..find one and GO).

Final touch was the sentiment, I considered 'get well soon' or 'thinking of you' but I decided that 'Sending warm fuzzies' was perfect for this fuzzy card.

CAS Colours and a butterfly..

Hey,

Happy Friday.

Again my friend Jen is providing challenge inspiration, she is guesting over at CAS Colours and Sketches.

I love the colours this week -

I decided that I would use Ferro metallic paste for my 'smoky slate', I love this stuff. I applied it to my white panel through a Tim Holtz stencil.

The butterfly die is by Poppy Stamps and I die-cut it out of a piece of purple cardstock to match 'elegant eggplant'.

Once the paste was dry, I die-cut the panel and affixed it to my card, then I stamped the sentiment (a freebie) in purple ink and affixed the butterfly and added the yellow enamel dots to match 'crushed curry'.

I am super happy with my card, it came out exactly as I had visualised, with the added bonus of the perfect sentiment, that I had forgotten about!

Hope you have a great weekend, Hubby and I are brunching with Lisette tomorrow and we have our new bed (finally) coming on Sunday!!

CASology: Cold...

Hey,

Happy Friday!

Gotta love a short week...

I am super happy to be back playing along with the first CASology challenge of 2017.

The cue card this week is -

I have SO many stamps that would fit this word.

I decided to use my all time fave Lawn Fawn 'Yeti, Set Go' set and combined him with a Poppy Stamps tree die.

The sentiment comes in one block, so for my idea to work, the Misti, my new Jonas tape dispenser ($3.99 at Home Goods..yay!) and I had to do some serious masking, SO worth it.

In my head Yeti's are HUGE, so it was only fitting that my Yeti was behind the trees and a teeny bit taller than them!

I popped the trees up using foam pads and added some Stickles to the panel for a bit of shimmer. I decided at the last minute to add a couple of snowflake stamps and I am glad I did.

This card keeps making me laugh when I catch a glimpse of him on my desk..I love it when an idea tickles me continuously.

One stamp four ways...

Hey,

Every now and then I like to choose a stamp, stencil or die and spend a couple of hours making things with that item as the focus.

This time I chose the Brushstrokes background stamp by Stampin' Up.

I wanted the background on the main card to look like the sea, so I applied a variety of blue distress inks directly to the stamp and spritzed it with water, then I laid my cardstock on the stamp and hoped for the best :) The anchor is a new punch I got in a closeout sale and the sentiment I have had for nearly 7 years!

I made four quite different cards -

Kaleidacolor ink, SSS Sentiment, Lawn Fawn wood star, painted with distress paints and glitter
Distress Ink, Studio Calico wooden words, Lawn Fawn wooden stars, painted with Hero Arts paint dauber
Distress Ink, Avery Elle pineapple die, Poppy Stamps glasses die, Crate Paper sentiment, Paper scrap
I'm pleased with how they have all come out, I think I like the background on the pineapple card the best. I like the faded out feel of the yellow.
