Freshly Made Sketches..Hipster Birthday..
Hey,
Hubby and I are off to Atlantic City today, we are gonna party party and we have tomorrow off - whoo hoo!!
I really liked the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, so versatile -
I've been dying to use a new stamp from Technique Tuesday 'Hipster Birthday' and I recently dug out my MFT chevron dies, so I could have a play with them, they have been neglected..
The sketch seemed to speak to both of those items.
I started by die-cutting 3 chevrons in coordinating papers. I affixed them to some white cardstock and then die cut the panel using a MFT wonky stitched rectangle die.
I decided to use a blue circle for my stamp and I stamped it using navy blue ink.
The whole thing came together super quickly..love it when that happens.
I love it, maybe the circle is a bit big, but I still love it...

CASE..Early card rework...
Hey,
Happy Saturday, hope you are having a great weekend. Hubby and I are just chilling out.
So I was looking for something on my blog the other day and I came across this -
Not too bad for an early card / challenge entry. This is the sketch it was based on
I really liked the sketch, so I thought why not rework it...
As you can see from the main photo I switched things up a bit and turned the sketch on it's side. I kept the papers simple (the fancy moustache paper is by PinkPetticoat) and added a die-cut moustache instead of 3 little elements. I am enjoying this new topsy turvy sentiment stamping thing! Shame I smudged it...
I quite like the new version and despite the smudge it is going to someone for their birthday.

WOYWW #254...Learning something new...
Hi,
Happy WOYWW!! Where did the week go?
Before we get our WOYWW on, let me explain what this acronym means...every Wednesday us crazy crafters, join our wonderful Hostess Julia over at her blog Stamping Ground and reveal our messy (or not) desks to the world. It's fun and Wednesday's have been fun fun fun for me since 2012. Join in!
I had a fun time in Montauk over the weekend..Hubby and I relaxed, which was the point and much needed.
My desk this week is still tidy, but showing signs of activity..it looks a bit staged?! I assure you it is not..I stepped back to assess the things I was working on and decided to take my photo then..So what is actually on my desk...Goo Gone is out as I needed to clean my mat before I started working last night..it was very sticky, from all the paper piecing I have been doing. I love Goo Gone, it smells odd, but who cares..it works! There are a couple of distress ink pads, a mustache stamp, craft knife, tweezers, bone folder, some hexagon punch outs, mouse, pencil, scissors and 3 cards I am playing with!
Cake card is a rough idea, I heat embossed the cake using a stamp that comprises of individual layers (meh!), the hexagon card is paper pieced together and the forty card is a replacement for the one I have already made and have now decided it's a mess.
I need some help WOYWWer's..I am keen to get involved in the WOYWW ATC swap..but I have never made an ATC before, so I am a bit bewildered and worried that I am not understanding it right! Here are my first attempts...

Crafting in NYC
Hello!
Well Hubby, the Fur children and I have now been in NYC for a month. We are getting settled nicely and I am starting to get my craft mojo back...it went missing for a while with all the house stuff to do :(
I have been a teeny bit naughty and have acquired bits of new kit here and there, whilst I am waiting for all our stuff to arrive from the UK. So I thought I'd show you what I have been up to - apologies for the quality of the photos, I am not used to the light in the apartment yet!
The main picture today is of a birthday card I made for my friend Carrie's husband Tom. The robot punch is a new purchase and had 50% off, so I felt it was rude to not buy it!! It's by EK success, the papers are from a scrap of the American Crafts set that I love and use often.
I also purchased some cool moustache stickers. I have made a few fun cards with them, but I think this one for Carrie is my fave. Carrie and I have a moustache thing, too long to explain here, but we are always buying each other moustache things!! I like the simplicity of this card.

My SIL had her baby on the 17th of May - a niece Florence Mae, she is gorgeous, sad we aren't there to give her a cuddle, but I did manage to make this card for her. Yep, they are the usual butterflies from JT's punch, I punched a bejillion of them before I left!!
I bought this very cute bunny stamp in the sale (stamps are rather expensive here in the US) and thought it would be fun if I stamped lots of them in a row. I like this, JT suggested I could use the bunny for new baby cards..this particular card is going to JT's folks to say Thanks for a wonderful Memorial Day weekend - more about that in another post :)
