Hi,
Happy WOYWW!! Where did the week go?
Before we get our WOYWW on, let me explain what this acronym means...every Wednesday us crazy crafters, join our wonderful Hostess Julia over at her blog Stamping Ground and reveal our messy (or not) desks to the world. It's fun and Wednesday's have been fun fun fun for me since 2012. Join in!
I had a fun time in Montauk over the weekend..Hubby and I relaxed, which was the point and much needed.
My desk this week is still tidy, but showing signs of activity..it looks a bit staged?! I assure you it is not..I stepped back to assess the things I was working on and decided to take my photo then..So what is actually on my desk...Goo Gone is out as I needed to clean my mat before I started working last night..it was very sticky, from all the paper piecing I have been doing. I love Goo Gone, it smells odd, but who cares..it works! There are a couple of distress ink pads, a mustache stamp, craft knife, tweezers, bone folder, some hexagon punch outs, mouse, pencil, scissors and 3 cards I am playing with!
Cake card is a rough idea, I heat embossed the cake using a stamp that comprises of individual layers (meh!), the hexagon card is paper pieced together and the forty card is a replacement for the one I have already made and have now decided it's a mess.
I need some help WOYWWer's..I am keen to get involved in the WOYWW ATC swap..but I have never made an ATC before, so I am a bit bewildered and worried that I am not understanding it right! Here are my first attempts...
ATC's |

Desk nosying will be coming from me after work and the gym, so apologies if I visit you late.

I understand you can make as many ATCs as you like - I only make the one to swap with the person listed below me on the day, though I understand others make several...
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!

Your ATCs look great. They can be anything you like. Usually we put WOYWW somewhere on the front too. Well, I do, just so it is obvious what they were swapped for in my album. Not everyone has an album... #36
ReplyDeleteCute ATC and I really love the cherry card. I will have to pop back over to Julia's and read more about the upcoming swap as I'd love to get involved. Hope you have a great week and happy WoYWW. Danie #29
ReplyDeleteHello Claire. Your desk looks great - as do your ATCs. As far as I see it, they are an opportunity to show off a skill or skills. I did just one last year to swap with the next person on the list - but I have done about 6 this year. Not sure I will get the time to do more than that. One, the next person swap, is more complicated. The others are really quite simple. Yours look just great. It's the giving and receiving which is so much fun - the making of new friends.
ReplyDeleteHave a special Easter.

Hello there, is this my first visit I wonder? Your desk does look very tidy but also productive!! Like the hexagon idea, saw something similar with diamonds yesterday, the cake card is coming along and I just love the typography for that forty! The cherry card too is adorable.
ReplyDeleteYour ATCs look just fine - they can be anything, any media. I didn't put WOYWW on mine last year (didn't even think about it) but I did make a special label for the back with my contact details etc. I think I swapped about 5 on line and a few more at the Crop. Just do whatever makes you happy!! Happy WOYWW and Happy Easter, Cindy #59
Gosh, everyone seems really busy, getting ATCs ready. I haven't even thought about them yet! Good to read your comments, to see what other WOYWWers are planning. Love the 'forty' and the hexagons, BTW. Easter blessings, Chris # 31
ReplyDeleteYour ATCs look good to me! As I don't do paper crafting, Julia very kindly lets me borrow some workspace and supplies in order to make some and mine are very simple indeed!! Some folk's are so intricate, I could never hope to manage that and my fingers are too fat to attempt to sew anything that small, I know my limits!
ReplyDeleteHave fun doing them, that's the important thing :-)
Hugs, LLJ 37 xx
Hi Claire - your ATCs look great - I usually put WOYWW on it some where just to show that it was for a swap. I'd forgotten all about it - will have to get my thinking cap on! Have a great week MMx #70
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, your ATC's look fine. The size is 3.5 x 2.5". I usually choose a theme for mine but it can be anything you like. When making an ATC think three, a background, a focal image and embellishments which could be a sentiment, brads, edging, so any extra stuff to perk it up and you will need a label on the back with your name, possibly contact info, date it was made, the swap info and edition number. Hope that's helpful and thanks for visiting me earlier, Angela #45
ReplyDeleteAmazing Angela! Thank you. Cx
DeleteYou are very welcome, Angela x
DeleteHi Claire, i think your ATCs look great, though I've never really made any, lol... Loving your cherry card! Hugs Carole Z #49

ReplyDeleteAnd the cherry card is just so cheery.
Chris #39
ATC can never be done wrong they show off your style when you make one so gave fun with them I usually put all my details on the back happy woyww hugs Nikki 12
ReplyDeleteLove the hexagon 'quilt' card, thats great. As is the cherry card. ATC's are whatever you want them to be, really. I only made my first ones for last years swap, and my second ones will be for this years, lol. Good idea to incorporate WOYWW, or maybe 5 for fifth birthday on the front, or you can write it on the back.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz # 34 xx
ReplyDeleteYou have been very busy and those ATC's are perfect. I haven't even started mine!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW!
