6 from 1: MFT Arrow Greetings..
Hey,
Happy Friday, gotta love a short work week that ends with Craft Class with Cheiron at the Inkpad - yay!
MFT had a sale recently and I had a bit of money from selling parts of my stash (new plan, sell something, replace with a discounted or second hand item).
So I bought a couple of things, including these Arrow Greetings dies, that I have been drooling over for a while.
I set myself a little challenge, to cut all the greetings and make cards from them all!
I love that they all seem so bright and cheery and it was a great way to use random things from my stash - like the camera stamp by Unity Stamp Co - I rarely use that, same for the tree die.
I also managed to break out my Dymo label maker...
A fun way to make 6 quick and easy cards and slightly different to have dies as the main focus.
Have a great weekend.

Retro Rubber Challenge #61 Button It...
Hey,
Time for another fun challenge with the Retro Rubber team.
This time we have a theme for you..
This card was made using a mix of old and new stash items. The newer items (Enamel Accents and embossing folder are from JT).
The sentiment and the die are from 2015 and are by Mama Elephant 'Friend Indeed' set, I love this set, the sentiments are very handy.
I dug through my button stash to find a button that coordinated with my card blank. I added little dots of enamel accents to make the right-hand side of the card a bit more interesting.
I love how the friend die-cut pops against both the embossed panel and the card blank.
I sent this card to a friend a while ago and recently when I was in London and visited her new home, it was on her kitchen noticeboard - how awesome is that!
Your turn to show us your button creations, but first go over to Retro Rubber and see what my teammates have made.
Challenge ends on May 5th, don't forget to use a stamp a year or older and tell us all about it, that's the fun part right? Also, please limit your challenge entries to 10 including ours.
Thanks
Cx

Playdate backgrounds..
Hey,
I know it's been about 3 weeks since my playdate with JT, but I completely forgot to post these cards!
Whilst we were gossiping and playing, I dug out 3 backgrounds that I had already made and finally turned them into cards.
The main card uses a background I stamped at Jamey's on a craftgang playdate, I loved the stamp so much I bought it! I added a tag and a chipboard heart and stamped the freebie sentiment (gift from JT). I think it makes a nice modern Anniversary card.
The next background was a 'test' of a new stencil, ages ago. I loved what I ended up with, but was at a bit of a loss about how to turn it into a card...
The freebie sentiments from JT have turned out to be most useful and the Happy Birthday is so pretty, I thought it would look nice against the stenciled background. I added a few dots of black enamel accents here and there.
The final card is a teeny bit weird!
This background came about because I was trying to achieve a 'gold' paste..I got more of a shimmery brown LOL! I added the patterned die-cut circle along with the super blingy pineapple (from JT) and the aloha die-cut (Avery Elle).
I love making backgrounds, background stamps and stencils are my fave tools when doing this, along with distress inks and a water spritzer. I have a little stack of them that I use for inspiration when I am stuck for ideas.

CAS Mix-up: Corrugated Heart...
Hey,
Happy Monday.
My first day back at work!!
So I said that I would probably play along again with the February CAS Mix-up challenge
This is my second entry and I used the same old DCVW corrugated card in grey.
I die-cut a heart from the corrugated card and from a piece of velum. I matched them up, so the vellum piece is slightly higher and just peeks out.
The background splatter I stamped using a great Concord & 9th stamp (Lace Leaf).
I die-cut the Love You from a Simon Says Stamp die set and before I stapled them in place, I glued the letters together so they were slightly wonky.
I put the heart and the sentiment together before mounting it over the splatter. For a bit more stand-out I added black enamel accents dots.
Again a pretty CAS card and covers off the main two requirements, the your choice elements are die-cutting, splatter and vellum.
I am seriously considering playing again....I am loving working with the corrugated card.

$20 Challenge haul playdate..
Hey,
Last week as both JT and I were on Christmas break, we had an epic 5hr Skype playdate.
It also meant we could open the $20 Challenge BF haul we bought each other.
Here is what I got from JT -
Didn't I do well. I love it all and I am really looking forward to playing with it all a bit more this year.
All the cards today were made using the new goodies - I made two other cards, but one is a DT make, so you'll have to wait a while for that one and the other I already posted.
The main photo today used this awesome chevron die plate and as with all these bigger die-plates it was a beast to cut, but I am liking leaving parts in. I affixed it to a lime green piece of paper and added it to my card blank. The sentiment is ancient and a firm fave by Woodware. I added some coordinating enamel dots. Feels like a 'man / boy' card to me and I love it.
This card uses the great Your Next Stamp 'Silly Monsters Too' set, which I gave to JT as part of the BF haul. The gorgeous Hexagon Circle die is from JT and by Simon Says Stamp.
You get the background circle too, so I blended 3 green distress inks and die-cut the hexagon part using a shimmery green paper. I wasn't intending on a green monster, but JT preferred him to the blue one and she was right, so I went with it. I ADORE these mini square kraft card blanks and I cannot get them in the US, so JT buys them for me..
The final card uses the awesome mini Crazy Birds by Tim Holtz, this set is from Michael's and comes with bird stamps, sentiment stamps, dies and an embossing folder. I surprised JT I think with my delight at getting this set, I have been holding it and touching it for MONTHS, but was being mean about buying it..good job eh!
Great haul, love it all. Craft buddies that happen to be one of your besties are the best kind of friends..

Sketch Saturday #442
Hey,
This week's Sketch Saturday challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp who are offering a $25 gift certificate to their store.
Here is this week's sketch -
I decided to rotate the sketch and where the sentiment should be (well almost...I misjudged it slightly), I added a row of dots using Enamel Accents.
I used a fave Simon Says Stamp set called Gifts of Love. I stamped and coloured the kitty and gifts using Zig Clean Color brush pens and fussy cut the gifts.
The papers are all random scraps out of my paper drawers.
Show us your interpretation of the sketch but first go over to Sketch Saturday and be inspired by the rest of the DT makes.
This is my last Sketch Saturday before the holiday break - so have a great Christmas everyone.
Challenge ends 16th December 7pm GMT / 5pm EST.
