Staycation time...

Hey,

So I am currently on a staycation here in NYC, as my Dad is here for a week and it's my birthday on Weds - Yay!!!

So far it has been awesome having my Dad here and we have lots of fun things planned for the week. Hubby leaves tonight for London, he is going to visit friends and family for 10 days.

When I last showed you a card made with this stencil, I said I wanted to play with it more.. and play with it I did.

I had great fun playing with it, in all different colour combos.

The stencil is by Balzer Bits from TCW - I love these mini stencils from Julie Fei-Fan Balzer and the sentiment is by Unity Stamp Co. and it seems to work here.

Again I die-cut the white panel using a Simon Says Stamp stitched square and popped it up with foam pads on a kraft square blank, which came from JT.

I'm not sure how much I'll be posting this week..feels like having my Dad here will make me a bit random :)

30 Days of Colouring...Day 6 Critters..

Hey,

Happy Friday.

I am off to Philly this afternoon, to join Ma at the family reunion and to see JT's parents :)

I thought it would be fun to show you another batch of cards I made using my colouring from The Daily Marker 30 Days of Colouring challenge.

Day 6 was fun, because I coloured all the critters from the Paper Smooches Chubby Chum Pals set and I made four fun and very different cards -

Crab is my main photo today..because I love Crabs, as does JT, we have a CrabbyMoose thing that is genuinely not funny to anyone but us! I decided that Mr Crab should have a bokeh background, it kind of feels like he is in water. The sentiment came from the same Paper Smooches set.

Moose is pretty simple, I used a Falling Flakes background stamp by Neat & Tangled, the sentiment from the same set as the Moose and added some googly eyes to him.

Chick came together because I saw the sentiment stamp (Stamping Bella) and I thought I'd use some creative licence and put him in a tree.. I liked the fact that the tree branch stamp I found (Freebie) had flowers, it adds a bit of interest to him. He is far up because I made an oopsie and had to turn the white panel around :)

Bear was tricky, I wasn't sure what would work with a Bear. So I stenciled the background (Crafters Workshop) to give me a forest type feel and then I went rooting through my sentiment stamps and saw the awesome 'Go Buck Wild' by Unity Stamp Co. I added the 'It's your birthday' sentiment (SSS) in part because I thought the bear needed to sit on something!

I had a lot of fun on Day 6 colouring and making these cards. It is so odd how the simple act of colouring four critters can spark my creativity..more of that please.

Have a great weekend.

Color Throwdown..lucky to have a friend like you...

Hey,

Happy Friday to you..

Today I'm playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge -

I fell in love with the colours and wanted to play with them.

I am really happy with my card, it came out exactly as I had pictured it in my head! That's pretty rare.

I broke out my MFT rounded rectangle dies..I don't use these as often as I should, whenever I use them I'm all 'why don't I use these more?'

I used Tumbled Glass Distress Stain through a new Crafters Workshop stencil, that I got given as a Christmas present.

I then covered a piece of scrap paper with Picked Raspberry Distress Stain and then die cut friend from it - the friend die and sentiments are by Mama Elephant.

I scattered some pink and blue bling around, as what card doesn't need a bit of bling :)

Have a great weekend.
