Moving Along With The Times..Numbers or Letters...
Hey,
Welcome to another fun Moving Along With The Times Challenge..
This time our Hostess is Judith and she wants us to use die-cut letters or numbers.
I made my card in October when I was at JT's house having a playdate. So none of the items you see on my card are mine - love playing with someone else's stash.
I used a great woodgrain background stamp that JT has and I inked it up with 3 different distress ink blues and spritzed it with water before laying my paper on top.
I love doing this, you always get a great effect and its a total surprise!
I decided that a word banner would work well and rooted through JT's stash and came up with this awesome Die-versions Cheers banner. I die-cut it in a coordinating colour and secured it to the card using mini staples.
It felt a bit bare, so I added some punched stars and some blue bling.
It has already left my desk and is winging its way to a friend.
Show us your creations, but first hop on over to MAWTT and see what the rest of the DT have been making.
Challenge ends on November 23rd at 1pm GMT. You can enter 3 times.

Distress Techniques....
Hey,
Happy Saturday to you all!
I am probably landing as you are reading this...
Right after the loft art retreat I used the left over tags from our project to practice some of the techniques that Jenn had taught us.
It's taken me until this week to get round to making cards with them!!
Here are the 3 tags I started with, I have labelled them with the technique I used, just enlarge the photo to read the details.
The main photo is the first card I made and I love the Studio Calico wooden word bubbles. They are a lot of fun. This year I have used a lot more wooden items, I used to be daunted by them.
I die-cut the friend using a Mama Elephant die and I die cut it out of Kraft card twice and layered them, to make it studier. I added a couple of orange enamel dots to finish it off.
I really like it, its fun and really shouts fabulous to me.
The next card uses Lawn Fawn wooden words and stars and to make it a bit different I coloured a Tim Holtz Gum Drop using Orange Alcohol ink and covered the tag hole with it.
Fun cards and the orange card blanks really make the elements pop. I made the card blanks myself using the cardstock from my latest Simon Says Stamp cardkit.
Have a great weekend, I'll be hanging with my family and the animals...

Playing with Ferns.....
Hey,
I wanted to show you some things I've made using a new Fern background stamp.
The main photo today shows you the first card I made.
To create the background I inked up the stamp using two or three co-ordinating Distress Inks, then I spritzed it with water before laying my paper on top (this always stresses me out).
After rubbing the paper onto the stamp for a couple of minutes, I lift it off and dry it using the heat tool. The lift off moment is so nerve-wracking as I never know if I am going to get a inky wet mess or watercolourey perfection!
I decided to play around with the stamp a bit more to create backgrounds for some cards I am making as a gift for a friend.
Here are the finished cards -
I used word dies in similar colours, so it's a bit like camouflage.
I love the first card, the second batch, well I like them, but as JT would say, I don't love them..next time I'll use contrasting colour words.
