Fusion Card Challenge - Bookshelf...

Hey,

Welcome to another fantastic Fusion Card Challenge.

Slightly sad day for me, as after 3weeks my Momma is heading home to London today :(

Anyway, this will cheer me up! This time we have 'Bookshelf' for you! As always both the sketch and the inspiration image are awesome.

Which will you try?

As always I loved both, so I fused them!

I love bookshelves! And I thought it would be fun to dig out a very old set by The Ton 'Haute Books, which combines all my loves, coffee table books about fashion and stamps!

I decided to create a single-layer card and rather bravely for me stamped directly onto my card blank! I kept my colour palette simple and stamped my 'bookshelf' across the card to mimic the sketch. It felt like it needed a fun element, so I added a pair of shoes from The Ton 'Shoe Wardrobe 2' and I love it, I need to make more of these.

Christmas Cards 2020: Concord & 9th Wreath...

 

Hey,

As we are only a couple of days away from Christmas, I thought I'd share a few more of my cards for 2020.

I love Concord & 9th turnabout stamp. I thought it would be fun to use their wreath turnabout with their new-ish inks.

For the left card I used - Cranberry, Sprout, Parsley, and Clover. The right card uses - Mushroom, Eggplant, Dove, and Wheat.

The sentiment die is by Hero Arts and the strips are by The Ton.

I love how elegant and pretty they are, and the inks worked so well. The non-traditional colours look lovely and Mushroom is my fave.

Retro Rubber #129.. Anything Goes..

Welcome to another awesome Retro Rubber challenge.

This time we have everyone's fave - Anything Goes..

I decided to use this challenge to make a card for JT's birthday and it was a little CASE of an amazing card I had seen on Pinterest. I realised that I had the awesome Haute Books set by The Ton and it has barely been used since I bought it in 2017.. such a crime.

First I created the background, using distress oxide inks and water.

Then came the hard part! The stamping of the books, they are all individual and it takes AGES to stamp these bad boys. I stamped the vase onto the top of the book and the flowers I stamped on a separate sheet. I fussy cut the books and the flowers - yeesh.

The books and the flowers got added to the background using foam tape and then I drew in the stems and added the sentiment and the bling.

It came out so well and I know that JT loved it, so all the work was totally worth it.

Retro Rubber Challenge #127... Tic Tac Toe..

Welcome to another fun Retro Rubber challenge.

This time we have a fab Tic Tac Toe board for you!

I love Tic Tac Toe - even if several of us choose the same row, the cards are so different.

I went with the top row - green, twine, pattern paper. To be 100% honest, I was unpacking my suitcase from London and I bought a mini pack of paper that happened to have the gorgeous green and gold paper you see on my card and it inspired my whole card and row choice.

I wanted to maximise the amount of the paper that you can see on the card, as it is SO pretty IRL. I decided to keep it all as CAS as possible.

I added the gold twine to tie in with the paper and I stamped the sentiment, by The Ton (which I have had since 2017) onto coordinating green paper, that I die-cut using a Avery Elle banner die.

The Fashion Lady stamp, I have had since 2015 - I bought a 'grab bag' of stamps and got like 60 stamps!! I donated some, gifted some and kept a few. This is my fave one from the whole bag of stamps and works so well with the sentiment. I coloured the Lady in green tones, to fit the row.

A pretty fun, funky card that will make a great birthday card for one of my stylish friends.

Retro Rubber Challenge #112... Buttons and Bows...

Welcome to another fun Retro Rubber challenge.

This time we are looking for buttons or bows on your card.

The minute I saw this theme, I knew which sets I would be pulling out of the archives ;)

First I created the background, by blending x2 shades of blue distress ink through a fave Andy Skinner bubbles stencil.

I stamped, coloured and die-cut the shoes from the Waffle Flower First Step set (I've had it since 2016). I decided it would be fun to use spotty papers for the bows, so I stamped one of the bows from the set on a spotty scrap and die-cut them out.

I added the shoes to the background panel and die-cut the entire panel using a stitched rectangle die.

I stamped the sentiment from The Ton Shoe Wardrobe (I've had this since 2017), I thought it suited the shoes perfectly.

Great use of two stamp sets that have been really neglected.

Here's the sketch..

We could choose to use any of the sponsors for today's 500th sketch celebration. I chose A Day For Daisies. I love the 'Skinny Maiden' stamp it is so versatile, sadly I believe it is retired.

I coloured the stamp using Promarkers and added tons and tons of Nuvo Crystal Drops to her dress for some extra special celebration sparkle.

Last year, I bought a second-hand set of really cool sentiment quote stamps by The Ton Stamps and I thought the Coco Chanel one worked really well here.

Both papers I used are scraps and were 'precious'...no more of that in 2018.. Tis the year to use the patterned papers.

Shopping..Cheaper Than Therapy

Hey,

Last week Lisette and I went and had a little playdate with Jamey in her craft space..

I love it when we go there, I get to rummage through all of Jamey's stamps and play with all kinds of things.

I came across this great set by The Ton Stamps 'Retail Therapy' and I had to colour the lady holding the bags (I also feel the need to own it).

I stamped the sentiment first, so that it would look like she is standing on it.

I coloured the image using Jamey's Copics..personally I still prefer Promarkers.

I added some Nuvo glitter pen here and there.

Keeping the whole thing simple really showcases the image.

I love playing with other people's stash, one of MANY reasons why I miss JT.
