The Paper Players: Toucan of Friendship...

Hey,

Sad day today, as my Momma leaves after being here for 2 weeks. It has been SO much fun hanging out with her and I'm super sad to see her go.

Momma and I in Philadelphia
So I love bird stamps, so when I saw the challenge over at The Paper Players this week, I knew I had to enter!

I wanted to use the great 'Toucan of Friendship' set by Reverse Confetti. I stamped and coloured one of the Toucan's from the set using Zigs.

I was a bit indecisive about the background and then came across some tags that I had forgotten about (from Paper Source) and I thought it would make a great backdrop for the Toucan. So I cut off the 'tag' part as it is a super long tag!

I stamped my sentiment also from the set in the top right corner and added the Toucan using foam tape..

I love him, he's so cheerful and is going to accompany a gift for a friend.

Christmas Card 2017: Paper Smooches Kissmoose...

Hey,

It's pretty cold here in NYC already and I am over it already!

Anyway.. here are some more of my Christmas Card makes..

I love this Paper Smooches set called Chubby Chum Pals. I had seen it on someone's blog last year and had to have it.

Last year I made identical Christmas cards with the Moose, the only difference being that the falling flakes background was yellow.

This year I heat embossed the falling flakes and falling circle backgrounds by Neat and Tangled, using WOW! holographic powder..such amazing shimmer.

I love this Moose and his punny sentiment, so easy to colour and create cards with, I totally overuse him.

Christmas Card 2017: Avery Elle Presents..

Hey,

So today's Christmas cards were made using an Avery Elle stamp.

I bought it late last year, it was sold out when I was in the midst of my 2016 Christmas card making..

Another super simple card, made even easier thanks to the MISTI. I stamped the sentiment and the image at the same time.

I die-cut one of the white panels first so I knew what space I had to work with, then I lined up the sentiment and image stamps and stamped all 4 cards - love the MISTI for repeat makes.

I coloured the image using Distress Inks and a paintbrush - I bought some new detail paint brushes, I actually prefer to use paintbrushes and water than an aquabrush, I can control the water flow better. A bit of stickles here and there adds a little bit of shimmer.

The card blanks are by PaperSource and as they are a discontinued colour, they were super cheap. They are actually pretty big, so I cut them down to make two mini cards - excellent vfm!

I'm a bit over excited today, as JT and I are off on our Margatecraftathon tomorrow - whoo hoo!!

Let's Chill..

Hey,

So I got another Honorable Mention over at CASology, but sadly, I don't think I'll be playing along with the current challenge, as I don't have any Diamond stamps!?

Last night I wanted to play with some of the new to me stamp sets that I acquired from Cheiron at the weekend.

This one by Hero Arts is a fave already..

I made two mini cards using the set, I am planning on making a couple more so I can give them to a friend.

I love the funky bird in the set and can't wait to use him more.

I kept my cards simple, just the sentiment and an image, coloured with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

Love it when a little desk action results in fun things.

I'll be brief...

Hey,

Happy Saturday.

Today I am sharing a few cards I made last weekend using new Lil' Inker I'll Be Brief stamps.

I love the cute animals in their 'briefs'.

Pretty formulaic, I watercoloured the stamps, added stickles accents, used a Paper Source cardblank and a blue stitched die-cut panel.

I switched it up to make one a Hello card, as I had a specific use in mind.

Very quick to make and fun too..more fun to be had playing with this set this weekend.

Pineapples can wear glasses..

Hey,

Today's card is very bright and fun.

I made it for a friend's 40th and it made me smile, as she is a bright, fun kinda girl.

I decided that I would be making her a Pineapple with Glasses card, no idea why, I just did.

I embossed the pineapple parts (Concord &9th dies) using a great basketweave folder that was a gift from JT, handily when I went to get the glasses die, there were already a bunch of them die-cut and ready to go - in bright green?!

I used a pineapple embossing folder to liven up the background, I love this folder, it is by Paper Source and was a sale bargain and is NBUS, so it means I can join in with Darnell's latest NBUS Challenge..

I recently got a set of Ken Oliver Color Burst watercolour powders..my first few tests were not that impressive, but they make great frames! I die-cut this one using MFT scalloped stitched rectangle frame dies - I love these dies.

Final touch was the sentiment,  I used a Dymo handheld embossing label maker (dirt cheap and handy). I thought the look that you get with these embossed tapes suited the off the wall feel of the card.

I hope my friend likes it, it made me smile a lot.
