Global Design Project: CASE the Designer..
Hey,
Happy Sunday to you.
I loved the idea of the current Global Design Project challenge -
You have to CASE the card shown above, in any way you chose.
What a fun idea!
I decided to use the flowers, gingham, blue and loosely the card layout.
My flower vase is by Paper Smooches (Best Buds) I stamped and coloured it using Copics and then die-cut it to size with a stitched rectangle die.
I layered gingham and blue papers to roughly fit the card layout and I added the die-cut flower panel with foam tape to pop it up a bit.
The sentiment is by Hot Off the Press.
My card ended up with quite a springy feel and I like it.

Girl with Wings...
Hey,
I am probably in the air as you are reading this today :) It was a quick trip, but a fun one.
I wanted to show you another of my super easy Christmas makes.
I die-cut 8 white panels using an MFT stitched die, then using the MISTI I stamped the sentiment (Recollections) and the Girl with Wings stamp (by HOTP).
Then I used the Zig Clean Color pens and an aquabrush to colour the girl.
Add some foam dots and mount onto a kraft card blank - simples!!
The main stamp is actually a birthday stamp...but I think she looks way more like a Christmas stamp, another example of stretching my stamps..
See you back in NYC at my desk tomorrow.

Acrylic Block Stamping..
Hey,
I did the first day of an Online Card Class - Watercolor for Card Makers - in OCTOBER!!!! I need to finish this, I am hoping to have some space in August to finish the class :)
Of the techniques that we were shown was how to stamp with an acrylic block..
Pretty simple and really effective.
For both cards I chose a skinny acrylic block and x3 distress inks
I can't remember which colours I used for the main card, but there is obviously a green in there!
You put the inks onto the block, then spritz, then lay onto your paper, I love the drippy, smudgey watercolour effect you get. But I am totally freaked out by how 'risky' this technique is - drips and smudges all over the place..
Dry it, then stamp over it. I used a HOTP freebie feather stamp, Snarky Stamp sentiments and added green ink splodges for a bit of added interest.
Obviously I had to make another one...
I went with oranges this time (Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey) and not so much water..I actually prefer the first one! The dandelion stamp is by Inkadinkadoo and the sentiment is by Stampin' Up.
Pretty simple technique, but you can get such great results from it, here is a completely different version I did a while back.

Retro Rubber Challenge #30 Sketch time...
Welcome to 2016 and the start of a fab year of challenges from the Retro Rubber team.
We also have three new DT members - great to have them with us - Maria, Carole and Donna - make sure you check out their blogs.
Big thanks to everyone that entered to join our fun team
Our awesome leader Jane has been beavering away to come up with awesome challenges for us and you to take part in during 2016.
The first challenge of 2016 is a sketch -
I love a sketch challenge..sadly this one was a bit painful..I literally made my card 3 times, until I settled on one I liked LOL..nothing worse than a fussy crafter!
I used scraps for the papers, patterned one is by American Crafts and the plain piece is by Recollections.
I stamped and die cut feathers by Lawn Fawn and the sentiment is by Hot Off The Press. I have had the feather stamps for approx 2 years and the HOTP sentiment was a new freebie last year.
I really like the white space and I'm pleased that I decided to add bling, right at the end!
Now it is your turn to show us your fab creations, but don't forget to hop over to Retro Rubber and view the fab creations by my awesome team mates.
Remember you have to use a stamp older than a year and the challenge ends on January 29.
