WOYWW #449 In mid flow...

Hey,

Happy WOYWW to you.

The time of the week where we join Julia and the gang for a desk nosy.

This week you see my desk in action - I was in the middle of smooshing a background or two for a card for a friend. You can see the stamp set I am going to use, my waterpot (recently cleaned..it was GROSS), my wine and on my computer screen is a tutorial for my new Heatwave tool that I bought in the Black Friday sale for $10 with a stencil and a pack of foils...great value.

Here is the finished card -

I heat embossed the stamp and the sentiment ( Kinda, Sorta Miss You by Unity Stamp Co.) and then added some gold heat embossed hearts. I love that big blue streak at the top of the smooshed panel.

With the weather in NYC being so cold I am pretty glad about my forced time off meaning I don't HAVE to go anywhere. Last Thursday was ridiculous - minus 16 and the wind was so strong that our apartment windows were covered in SNOW!!

Me + Mr G venturing out..
Anyway, so far my forced hiatus has been great! I am taking an online yoga course, so did that this morning and I'm heading to Macy's now to return some stuff. I've been to the gym, cooked healthy dinners and had oodles of fun time at my desk. As long as I stay inside for the bulk of the day I can resist the urge to spend money LOL.

I'll be nosying at your desks later.

Cx

  4. Snow is nice in the right place but not when you need to go to work. I am sure you will find plenty to do though. The little bird on your card is a real sweety. Have a good creative week and happy woyww, Angela x13x

  6. That's a great pic of you two! We've been watching the US weather on tv, blimey, it's been a right old roller coaster. That snow weather bomb that made its way up the east coast was truly horrendous. My nephew and his wife moved back here from NY just before Christmas so they were glad to have escaped before the storms kicked in. That's a great card btw, love the background and the image and sentiment made me smile.
Good luck with the fitness and spending restraint :-D

  7. Love the card, especially the smooshed background and the touch of gold embossing. I find it more dangerous at my desk as far as spending money is concerned lol but only on craft stuff. Keep warm! My brother lives in BC, Canada and he's found it a tad chilly too (to put it mildly). Have a good week. Sarah #12

  9. Ohemgee Claire, that weather! Love to see you both for reals! So glad you’re managing to stay away from slumping in front of the tv and doing nothing...sounds like you have this time off thing sussed! Such a cute card, love the smooshed colours and the sentiment is the bees!!

  10. Love your card. I would be dunking my paintbrush in the wine if I crafted like that! Glad to hear that you're keeping warm x

  11. I'm certainly with you on the cold weather! We are at -20C here (-4.3F)and I can't wait for spring. This morning I was faced with a car that was iced up, and then snowed upon. Took awhile to unfreeze it! Your card is delicious, I love the colours, and the gold heart. That smooshing technique is fun! Have a wonderful, warmer, week! Lindart #31
