Splattery Birthday...

Hey,

Happy Monday.

Well that was a weekend and a half!!!

I went out with the girls on Friday night and did not get home until 3am and then had PT at 10am. Man that sh*t was HARD!!

Then I hung out at home and played at my desk, making all kinds of fun things.

Today's card, I made as an experiment, sadly it didn't photograph very well, because you can't really see the pale pink watercolour wash behind the sentiment.

The sentiment stamps are by Studio Calico and I stamped them over my watercolour wash and then added some blue ink splatters.

I love the simplicity of it, brought alive with the awesome card blank.

Have a great week, I am going to be working out a LOT this week, ahead of my crafting weekend away with Lisette, we are going on a road trip to do a couple of Jenn Shurkus classes in Conneticut.

CAS-ual Fridays: Heat Embossing..

Hey,

I wanted to play along with the current challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays, because I have been heat embossing quite a bit lately and I'm feeling it!

I thought that one of the stamps from the awesome CAS-ual Friday's 'Flower Power' set would work really well heat embossed.

I heat embossed 'Rock' from the set in white and used picked raspberry and wilted violet distress oxide inks to watercolour over them - love this resist technique.

I added some splatter of the two colours and then added a Tim Holtz sticker for the rest of the sentiment.

Super simple and pretty CAS too..

FMS: You Are Loved...

Hey,

Happy Monday.

Another challenge post from me today.

There have been some lovely sketches out there recently and I've tried to play with as many as I can, as I love sketches. They give you so much freedom.

Today's card is my entry for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge -

This sketch is awesome, so versatile. The minute I saw it, I knew I wanted to use my new Memory Box 'Bundle Heart' die.

I had the heart die-cut already cut and coloured, I was playing with it at the Crop and the one I used on my card is one of several that I made at the crop. Sadly you can't see how sparkly it is, as I added some gold shimmer spray to it.

I die-cut a white cardstock panel using a SSS stitched die and then I stamped two of the brushstrokes from the SSS 'Brush Stroke Messages' set. The 'You Are Loved' sentiment is from the same set and for a bit of contrast I stamped it in red.

Final touch was to add some black ink splatters..I've recently got braver with my splatters and I am now using India Ink (EEK!!).

I love the end result, it's fun and modern and I think I might use it as an anniversary card.
