Fusion Card Challenge - Valentine Cupcake...

Hey,

Welcome to another fantastic Fusion Card Challenge.

Such a fantastic gallery for our last challenge, I look forward to seeing what you do with this one 'Valentine Cupcake'. As always both the sketch and the inspiration image are awesome.

Which will you try?

I loved both, so I fused them!

I love cake, so I was totally going to use a cake stamp on my card! But which one?!

Well, I decided to go with this super cute mini cupcake stamp by Unity Stamp Co, I think I got it fwp, which is always nice. I stamped the lines using Creative Expressions 'Build a Background' set - which is a very versatile set and was a gift from my best friend JT. I decided to watercolour the cupcake and added a little bit of bling to it. I am a big fan of corrugated card stock and it was fun to use a piece of it here, to add some texture. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant 'Birthday Messages' I didn't even realise I had this until I went looking for a cake sentiment!

Make sure you check out all the rest of the inspiration by the DT over at the Fusion challenge blog, and play along with your own creation! When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo to inspire your makes. OR, if you are feeling adventurous, you can fuse them together (see what I did there!).

Can't wait to see your makes.

Challenge ends on February 15th.

Squares and Cupcakes..

Hey,

Happy Monday!

Hope you had a nice weekend and are continuing to social distance.

I bought a great set by Mama Elephant during the Black Friday sale 'Cupcake Wishes' - I love that all the bits of the cupcake come individually, so you can build the cupcakes any way you like.

I was also super excited that it came with number candles - how awesome is that!

I made x3 cards - using the amazing Taylored Expressions masking template. I bought the square one and it comes with x2 templates - one with x4 squares and one with x3 squares. They make masking and blending super easy. I love the ombre blending I was able to do on x2 of the cards.

One of the cards was for my friend's daughter who turned 2. Here is a close-up -

How cute is this! And look at all that sparkle! The background sparkle is from a shimmer spray and the sparkle on the cupcake is from the Sakura Starburst gel pens.

Retro Rubber Challenge #120.. Anything Goes..

Hey,

Welcome to another fun Retro Rubber challenge.

We have everyone's fave this time - Anything Goes!!

Everyone loves Anything Goes! I especially love these challenges, I get to really root through my stamps and find something old and neglected that I can do anything I want to with it.

I chose a combo of stamp sets, that I have had since 2017. The giant sentiments are by Waffle Flower 'Eat Cake' and the cupcakes are by Hampton Arts 'Cupcake'.

I die-cut a white panel and then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using my all-time fave embossing powder 'Liquid Platinum' by Ranger / Tim Holtz. I stamped and embossed the cupcake in the same powder and then die-cut it out.

I coloured the heart on the cupcake using a Spectrum Noir sparkle pen for a teeny bit of shimmer.

LOVE the outcome. I so rarely make cards with so little colour, so I am feeling pretty pleased about stepping out of my comfort zone.

It's my birthday on Saturday! And my Goddaughter arrives on Thurs from London to spend the weekend partying with me.. let's hope she can keep up ;)

Can't wait to see all your Anything Goes makes. Pop over to Retro Rubber and get inspired by the things the DT have made.

Challenge ends October 4th.

Don't forget to tell us the age of your stamp, that is part of the fun of our challenge and please only enter 10 challenges including Retro Rubber.

Sketch Saturday #572 Beccy's Place...

Hey,

Happy Saturday to you and welcome to the latest sketch for the Sketch Saturday challenge.

Our sponsor this week is Beccy's Place and they are offering a gift card of $10Australian Dollars.

Here's the sketch...

I love this sketch by Deb, it was so much fun to play with. I decided to use a freebie image from the Beccy's Place blog - Strawberry Cupcake.

I printed, coloured and fussy cut the image. I created the background, using a variety of square dies and all my papers came out of my scrap folders.

I decided to go with sparkly purple flags to match the sketch and opted for no sentiment.

I can't wait to see what you do with the sketch, but first check out what the rest of the DT have made over at Sketch Saturday.

Challenge ends Fri 19th 7pm GMT / 2pm EST

Sketch Saturday #512.. Fred She Said.. You are the sweetest..

Hey,

Happy Saturday to you and welcome to the latest sketch for the Sketch Saturday challenge.

Our sponsor this week is Fred She Said and they are offering a $10 gift certificate to their store.

Here's the sketch...

I chose to use Daisy Cupcake, I always choose the images to fit the sketches.. it makes it a bit easier.

I've been all about the pinks and purples lately, so I decided to go yellow for this card. I printed the cupcake out and coloured it using Promarkers and Spectrum Noir sparkle pens.

As I was making this on Sunday whilst on my playdate with JT, I asked her advise on my choice of background paper and we settled on this pretty one by Stampin' Up. My circle dies are by Simon Says Stamp and Sizzix.

I used a piece of glittery tape for my banner and added the great sentiment by Clearly Besotted.

I love it, sadly you can't see how shimmery the cupcake is IRL.

I can't wait to see what you do with the sketch, but first check out what the rest of the DT have made over at Sketch Saturday.

Challenge ends May 11th 7pm GMT / 2pm EST.

Bugaboo Birthday Bash: Day 5..

Hey,

Two posts today, as I managed to make the Day 5 card in a timely fashion!

This week I am playing along with the Bugaboo 8th Birthday Bash.

For Day 5 you have to feature a cupcake on your card..

I remembered that I had the Cupcake Tag stamp and I thought this would make a perfect mini square card.

I die-cut the stamp out and coloured it using Promarkers and Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens.

I used a scrap of a beloved piece of paper, it works so well here against the mini kraft card blank.

A super simple card.

Sweeter than Fiction...

Hey,

Hope you are having a good weekend.

Recently I bought a big batch of goodies by My Favorite Things and so I thought it would be fun to play along with their current sketch challenge -

I combined the very cute Pure Innocence Cupcake Day stamps and dies with the papers and stickers from the April Simon Says stamp cardkit.

This sketch was great to play with and I got to break out the new-ish Stampin' Up banner punch..

I coloured the girl and the balloon using Promarkers and Wink of Stella.

I think the sticker sentiment works really well here, breaks up the cuteness a bit :)

Yummy, yummy, yummy for my tummy!

Hello!

Hope you all had a super weekend! I had lots of fun, dinner with some friends and hubby on Friday, lunch and theatre with Hubby on Saturday - which was excellent, and yesterday was spent food shopping, baking and relaxing.

Today's picture is of the cupcakes I made using the Hummingbird Bakery book I was given as a birthday gift (thanks Lemon). These bad boys are Chocolate and Banana and they are totally yummy and really really bad for you!

I also managed to squeeze in some crafting, although I might need to review some of the things I made over the weekend - too much vino tinto means some of the items might be a bit crazy and have to re-locate to the sale box!

Which leads in nicely to a top tip - the first craft fair I did was run by an amazing woman, she gave me these 2 tips:

1 - give a free gift - no matter how small, people getting excited (at Christmas I give Candy Canes)
2 - have a sale box - people LOVE a sale box - it is also a good place, for selling the items that are not quite right - be it broken, damaged or just weird, they ALWAYS sell if they are in the sale box. Which is great, as you don't waste things that aren't quite right.

Also both the free gift and sale box are good talking points, often people will stop and ask what is the free gift - I always say 'you'll only find out if you buy something......' I find that if people stop and talk to you, they will often buy something - so remember to smile and be friendly (and preferably not hungover and smelling of booze!!!)

Short post today, it's a bit busy today, but I promise more on Weds!
