Cards for Colleagues..

Hey,

Happy Friday!

Tomorrow Hubby and I leave for Mexico - WHOOOP!! So excited, can't wait to feel the sun on my body again. Summer seems to have gone by so quickly.

I thought I'd show you a batch of cards I made a while ago for a few of my colleagues in the London office.

The first one was a leaving card and the colleague in question loves a Llama. I forgot all about the great wooden Llamas that I had bought in London earlier this year and it seemed like the perfect time to use one. I kept the card simple. The sentiment is by A-Muse Studio.

The next card is for a colleague who got promoted, she has a French Bulldog, so I thought she would appreciate the headphone wearing dog. Again, kept super simple with a negative die-cut out by Tim Holtz.

The final card was also for a colleague that was leaving - yes you guessed it, she likes Cats! The stamp is from the same set as the dog above and I added the great self-adhesive sunnies! The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.

3 really simple, but impactful cards.

Have a great weekend. I know I'm gonna!

Always My Rockstar...

Hey,

Happy Monday.

I had a fun weekend helping Hubby celebrate his 39th birthday..I feel like he is never ever going to reach 40!!

We had a blast with our friends on Friday night and so Saturday was a rather slow start.. But we managed to make it out and go for a birthday lunch - nothing fancy as originally planned, just a nice low-key lunch at one of our fave spots.

I had a specific idea in mind when making Hubby's birthday card, but sadly I couldn't find the right stamps to execute it..

So I went with plan b..

We both like Bulldogs / Pitt Bulls, etc and one day we hope to own one, so my Brutus Monroe 'Rockstar Pets' stamps were a perfect fit, especially as Hubby likes to mix music. Bulldog wearing headphones = perfection.

Hubby liked it - his exact words were 'that is an awesome stamp'.

Friend for Life...

Hey,

Last year my friend Ava sent me a link to a new stamp called Monster Selfie by Brutus Monroe.

Obviously I had to have it and I discovered all kinds of goodies on the Brutus Monroe site, including the Rockstar Pets.

I stamped the monster image ages ago and it has just been sitting unloved on my desk. I finally coloured it and made it into a card on Thursday!

I don't use the polaroid frame die much, but when I do I always think "why don't I use you more?".

The friend die is by Mama Elephant, the word stickers are by Tim Holtz and the awesome background paper is by Studio Calico.

This was a pretty quick make, despite all the elements.

Which monster are you? I'm the big jolly green one (I'm tall so I am always at the back!).

Rockstar birthday...

Hey,

Happy Monday.

I had great fun being back at my desk last week and I bashed out a couple of birthday cards for late October people.

This one is for a friend's Son and I am super pleased at how versatile the Brutus Monroe Rockstar Pets stamp set is proving to be.. I have already used it to make a thank you card.

As this one is for a teen boy, I thought it should be a bit funky. The happy die is by Little B and I bought the set off of Cheiron in her clear out. I like to add staples to 'man' cards, I feel like it gives them a bit of an edge?!

I like the contrast of the imagery against the kraft card blank.. I love these card blanks..I ration them.

Rockstar thanks...

Hey,

Hubby and I have a great friend called Hazel and she made our wedding invites.

She is a prolific bobble hat knitter and when I saw no.70, I fell in love!

Isn't he gorgeous?! So Hazel sent him to my parents house and I picked him up on Sunday and I have been wearing him ever since.

I had to make an impromptu thank you card for the hat and as I happened to bring my new Rockstar Pets stamp set by Brutus Monroe with me, I thought it would make a fun card for Hazel.

I stamped the Bulldog from the set onto a watercolour postcard and coloured him using Distress Inks.

Love the card made in with limited supplies in my makeshift craft 'space' and the hat is just too gorgeous for words.
