Retro Rubber Challenge #162 - Sketch Time....

Hey,

Hope you had a great 4th of July Holiday if you celebrate it. Hubby and I had lots of fun, our last weekend together for a while, as I am heading to London to see our families!

It's time for another fun Retro Rubber challenge.

We have a sketch for you this time, created by me!

You know how much I love a sketch!

I have a weakness for Whale stamps and decided that I would use one for this card, the curve of the circle made me think of Whales!

I used a piece of paper that has a watercolour fade to it for my background. I printed out a piece of ancient Pink Petticoat digital paper - it is my fave fish paper, which I die-cut using an Ellen Hutson Snow scene die - which how I got the water like bubbles!
My Whale is one of my faves, by Spellbinders from their 'Sunshiny Day' set that I have had since 2019. The spotty paper is a scrap and I stamped the sentiment in two colours using stamps from the Recollections 'Whale Hello There' set (from 2018).

So happy with this fun card.

Show us your interpretation of the sketch and pop over to Retro Rubber and get inspired by the things the DT have made -their use of the sketch has been nothing short of amazing!

Challenge ends July 16th.

Don't forget to tell us the age of your stamp, that is part of the fun of our challenge, and please only enter 10 challenges including Retro Rubber.

Fusion Card Challenge - Beach..

Hey,

Welcome to another fantastic Fusion Card Challenge.

We have a great Beach-themed image for you this time and of course an amazing sketch. You can fuse them together or just use the theme or the sketch.

Which will you try?

Oddly for me, I did not fuse my card, I was instead, inspired by the hat and the bag in the image.

I LOVE RongRong Devoe stamps, they are so fun. And I knew the minute I saw this image that I would be using a stamp from her 'Just Relax' set.

I stamped the lady first (isn't her dress fab?) and then I masked her off, so I could stamp the dots over the top (MFT Lots of Dots background). I then used Copics to colour her and added a sentiment from the set.

I love how it came out, the contrast of the green against the yellow is perfect!

Make sure you check out all the rest of the inspiration by the DT over at the Fusion challenge blog, and play along with your own creation! When playing along you may use the sketch OR the photo to inspire your makes. OR, if you are feeling adventurous, you can fuse them together (see what I did there!).

Can't wait to see your makes.

Challenge ends on July 6th.

Retro Rubber Challenge #161 Photo Inspiration...

Hey,

Welcome to another fun Retro Rubber challenge.

This time we have photo inspiration for you.

I love ice-cream and I had so much choice for this challenge as I have a ton of ice-cream related stamps.

I decided to use the Waffle Flower 'Sweet Ice Cream' set that I have had since 2019. I love how versatile it is and it comes with a ton of stamps.

I created a background using the ice-cream / popsicle stamps. I then added a die-cut vellum circle, so my sentiment and mice would stand out.

The sentiment is from the set and I heat embossed it and cut it out.

This card makes me want ice-cream!

Show us your interpretation of the photo. Don't forget to pop over to Retro Rubber and get inspired by the things the DT have made.

Challenge ends July 2nd.

Don't forget to tell us the age of your stamp, that is part of the fun of our challenge and please only enter 10 challenges including Retro Rubber.

Fusion Card Challenge - Seashells..

Hey,

Welcome to another fantastic Fusion Card Challenge.

I am currently on a staycation and I should be cleaning my closet.. but my desk calls.

This time we have a great seashell themed image for you and a wonderful sketch.

Which will you try?

As always I loved both, so I fused them!

The seashells made me instantly think of the amazing all-time fave woodblock stamp I have by Stampendous 'Mermaid'. I bought it on super-bargain clearance about 8 years ago and I love watercolouring her.

I used Distress Inks to watercolour her. I kept the whole card super simple and mounted the mermaid panel onto a navy blue mat and added a heat embossed sentiment in a circle and x2 stars to fit the sketch.

Challenge ends on June 22nd.

Retro Rubber Challenge #160 Summer Breeze...

Hey,

Welcome to another fun Retro Rubber challenge.

This time we want to see your Summer inspired cards.

I am 100% a Summer girl, I hate being cold.

I dug a fave Summer stamp set out of the archives. 'Flip Flop Season' by Simon Says Stamp, I have had it since 2015.

I love to create backgrounds using imagery or smaller stamps from sets, this time, I added a little twist, by only stamping the flip-flops on half of the white panel. I added some glitter gel pen to the straps. I also blended a bit of Kitsch Flamingo Distress oxide around the edges.

The sentiment is also from the set and was die-cut using a MFT stitched, sentiment strip die.

Love a fun Summer card and life is indeed better in flip-flops.

Show us your interpretation of the theme and pop over to Retro Rubber and get inspired by the things the DT have made.

Challenge ends June 18.

Don't forget to tell us the age of your stamp, that is part of the fun of our challenge and please only enter 10 challenges including Retro Rubber.
