Hipster 30th...

Hey,

So one of my work colleagues in London is turning 30 this week..he tried to keep it quiet, but JT and I hatched a card plan!

I recently got introduced to Le Petite Market digital stamps by Rina (aka The Scrapstress) and I am OBSESSED with them!!

I bought the Hipster Valentine set and thought one of the images would work really well with an idea I had for this card.

I printed most of my sentiment and die-cut the white panel using a stitched rectangle die. Then I stamped 'Dude' using a stamp by Simon Says Stamp - that was in my first ever SSS card kit.

I coloured and fussy cut my male hipster and mounted him onto the card using foam tape.

It's a bit weird and quirky, but so is my colleague!

Happy Birthday Georgeous.

Rollerskating Dinosaur....

Hey,

I found this fun challenge Moo-Mania.

The original idea was to make small size projects. They have recently expanded that to accept any size project.

I liked the current theme - Use your favourite colours..

I decided to create a background using my newest acrylic paints in some of my fave colours.. I love pinks, blues and purples - I often add green for interest, but to be frank, if I am using colour then I rarely work with other colours (excluding neutrals).

So I created the background using stripes and splashes of paint in my 3 mainstay colours and added a splash of green, as it was looking a bit dark! I added some gold sparkly dots here and there and some purple stenciled letters.

The background seemed a perfect fit for a Rollerskating, headphone wearing T-Rex!

I stamped part of the sentiment (from the same set as the T-Rex) in purple ink directly onto the background and the rest of it I stamped in the same purple ink as my T-Rex onto white card and mounted onto the card.

I like it's grungy feel, it was a fun card to make.

Retro Rubber #90.. Colour Challenge, Red, White & Blue

Hey,

Welcome to another fun Retro Rubber challenge.

As it's 4th of July tomorrow, we have a suitable Patriotic theme for you...

I decided not to make an actual 4th of July card, but to use the great Liberty Girl stamp by Unity Stamp Co to make a fun card for an American friend! I have had the stamp since 2016 and last year I used it to make 4th of July cards for my friends.

I stamped onto watercolour paper and used distress inks and a paintbrush to colour the image. The sentiment stamp came with the set and I added a little bit of blue bling to her hair.

Super simple, but fun and a bit cheeky!

Let's see what the photo and colours inspire you to make, pop over to Retro Rubber and get inspired by the things the DT have made.

Challenge ends July 13th.

Don't forget to tell us the age of your stamp, that is part of the fun of our challenge and please only enter 10 challenges including Retro Rubber.

Have a great 4th of July, Hubby and I are doing some pre-4th marauding...

4 cards from one stamp set: Cattitude..

Hey,

Happy Monday to you!

I had a great weekend, starting off with an awesome night out with Hubby on Friday - check us out..

We went to a Jungle themed night..hence our banana / parrot attire. We spent Saturday recovering - aka slumped on the sofas watching the World Cup and eating.

Yesterday I had a fun skype playdate with JT - she sent me a magazine that had a great set of Cat Stamps as the free gift. So I made x4 cards using the set yesterday whilst gossiping.

They are all a bit different, as the Cats are super versatile. I love them all, but I think the butt to butt anniversary card is my fave.

MAWTT: Floral Birthday...

Hey,

Happy Sunday and welcome to July!!

Today's card is topical, as I am having a playdate with JT today..

I saw JT's DT card for MAWTT this time and I loved it and she is right, we all have a ton of flower stamps.

So I thought I'd play along - their theme is 'June Blooms'.

I used a fave stamp for my flowers it is 'Floral Background' by Pink Fresh Studio.. It's a large stamp and a bit of a beast to ink up and stamp, it takes a few attempts and that is with a stamping platform! All tips are welcome!

I watercoloured it using distress inks and a paintbrush. I trimmed it to fit my card blank, added a sparkly strip and simple sentiment blocks (by Neat & Tangled).

Super simple make, because the stamp is so busy, I wanted to keep all the other elements to a minimum.
