Catch the Bug: Anything Goes...with Coffee..

Hey,

Happy Friday!

So first full week off completed. I have been the vision of housewifery!! Cooking, laundry, meal planning. Honestly this is more exhausting than working!

I've also managed a fair amount of gym time and yesterday Wendel decided to torture me by making me do Bulgarian split squats WHILST I was doing rope slams. There were tears.

Bulgarian Split Squat

I am just posting this in time, so I can play along with the first Bugaboo challenge of 2018, it is Anything Goes. I thought it would be only fitting to play along as JT gave me the awesome stamp on my card by Bugaboo as part of our annual $20 challenge.

Unusually for me, I used the sentiment that came with the stamp, it is too perfect to replace and why don't real coffee cups come in this size?

As you can see I kept my card simple, just coloured the stamp using Promarkers and die-cut the panel out. I decided that the sentiment needed a little border to make it pop a bit. The backing paper is ancient, I have had it for about 7 years, it is the last piece (sob) and it worked so well here.

Have a great weekend. I'll be having a cooking break (I'm all housewifed out) and watching NFL.

The Paper Players: I've taken a Viking to you...

Hey,

So as I am off, it's a great time to get involved with some challenges, so I have a few posts coming up where I am playing along with some.

Today I am playing along with The Paper Players challenge -

Punny Valentine did you say?! This is SO me.

I went with a firm fave my Avery Elle 'Viking' set, I love this cute little fella. I also went with a fave Valentine background technique that I love and overuse.

I stamped hearts from the Clearly Besotted 'With all your Heart' set and heat embossed them using white powder. Then I took my new giant dauber and some Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and went over the hearts, so you get the resist background you see on my card.

It came out so well here and I love the CB set with all the different hearts.

Fun challenge, I wish there was more time so I could play again!

WOYWW #449 In mid flow...

Hey,

Happy WOYWW to you.

The time of the week where we join Julia and the gang for a desk nosy.

This week you see my desk in action - I was in the middle of smooshing a background or two for a card for a friend. You can see the stamp set I am going to use, my waterpot (recently cleaned..it was GROSS), my wine and on my computer screen is a tutorial for my new Heatwave tool that I bought in the Black Friday sale for $10 with a stencil and a pack of foils...great value.

Here is the finished card -

I heat embossed the stamp and the sentiment ( Kinda, Sorta Miss You by Unity Stamp Co.) and then added some gold heat embossed hearts. I love that big blue streak at the top of the smooshed panel.

With the weather in NYC being so cold I am pretty glad about my forced time off meaning I don't HAVE to go anywhere. Last Thursday was ridiculous - minus 16 and the wind was so strong that our apartment windows were covered in SNOW!!

Me + Mr G venturing out..
Anyway, so far my forced hiatus has been great! I am taking an online yoga course, so did that this morning and I'm heading to Macy's now to return some stuff. I've been to the gym, cooked healthy dinners and had oodles of fun time at my desk. As long as I stay inside for the bulk of the day I can resist the urge to spend money LOL.

I'll be nosying at your desks later.

Bombshell..

Hey,

Last year I discovered a new to me stamp company - Sweet Stamp Shop.

I really like Nicole's style and their price points. I am not affiliated with them in any way, but I believe you get a discount on your first order with them..

I bought the awesome Heartbreaker set on sale, I have been looking at it for a while then it went on sale so it was a no brainer.

I love all the fun sentiments that you can put in the banner.

My card was super quick and easy, just stamp and colour, nothing fancy.

I made a few of these, as I had the stamps set up on the MISTI, I haven't stamped in the banner yet. I might just leave them blank and give them to a friend as a set and she can add her own sentiment?

Crazy in Love..

Hey,

Happy Monday.

Still no work permit, so I continue to be on a forced hiatus.

So far it's been pretty good because we had the epic Bomb Cyclone snow storm, so I've had no choice but to be on house arrest.

One of my work colleagues in NYC got engaged over the Christmas break and her and her boyf are firm friends of mine, so I wanted to make them a fun card.

I actually don't have a lot of 'engagement' stamps and so I had to improvise.

I thought that the "Crazy Awesome" set by Concord & 9th, could work as an Engagement card, but then my heart sank a bit, because there are no dies for this enormous stamp and fussy cutting it is a pain in the arse.

So I broke out my Silhouette Portrait..scan in the stamped image and die-cut a bunch of them - yay!

Because the stamp is so in your face I opted for a simple background (Paper by Lawn Fawn).

I love it and I hope they do too.
