Bugaboo Flower Girl...

Hey,

Happy Monday to you all. Short week for me, as I am off to Jenn Shurkus' loft art retreat this weekend.

I hope you had a great weekend, ours was a bit wet and Hubby had to work, so I occupied myself at my desk.

I love Bugaboo Stamps - JT and I have tons of them.

I thought it would be fun to enter their current Anything Goes challenge, I really should enter more often, I am always colouring their digis!

I decided to use the Pretty Flower Girl digi for my card, as I needed to make a birthday card for a friend.

I kept it simple, because the image is so pretty I wanted it to be the hero.

I die-cut the image using a stitched square (Simon Says Stamp) and used a slightly bigger one to cut the pink square. I found a co-ordinating piece of floral paper in my stash (by American Crafts) and cut that to fit the card blank.

I coloured the image using Promarkers and Spectrum Sparkle markers. I love her hair, I am getting much better at hair and skin tone, which is cool, I am enjoying the practice sheets I printed out.

It all came together really quickly and I had considered adding bling, but I am happier with it as it is.

Fusing together..

Hey,

Hope you are having a good weekend.

I have been playing with inks and background stamps this weekend...I'll show you the outcomes later on in the week.

Today I am sharing some fun cards I made using Fuseables. It's essentially plastic paper, that you can fuse together, using your Fuse tool. You can die-cut it too, you get the best results with simple dies.

I managed to get a pack of already die-cut items and a pack of 6x6 papers on sale.

I've wanted to play with Fuseables for a while but they were a bit pricey..even for me :)

I made x4 cards and I embossed the background for each card, using different folders..I forget how much embossing can lift a card.

The Fuse creates all the white lines you can see and fuses all the pieces together, it was fun to do and I can't believe it all stays together!

Today is a good day...

Hey,

So I got a bit distracted before leaving for Tampa and didn't get round to finishing off my posts about the Flamingo cards I made.

Today I am showing you the rest of the cards from my Flamingo playtime.

I moved over to Tim Holtz chit chat and small talk stickers.

I stuck with the theme of bright papers and used a piece of ancient Pink Paislee paper. Again, I dug out a fave shop bought tag. I love these craft tags..

I stamped all over the tag with a stamp from the same set as the Flamingo. I used brown ink instead of black, it fit better with the background.

I really like the bold colours of this card, softened with the brown accents.

The next card makes me smile a lot -

The chalkboard tag is by American Crafts and I got a bunch of them in all shapes and sizes on sale ages ago.

The papers are all scraps.

I had to make a new baby card for some friends and decided to use a Flamingo for this one too, as the new baby is a girl -

I decided to pull out a ready to go shaker pouch (gotta love the Fuse tool) and some foiled paper to make a rather glitzy new baby card.

I'm really happy with how it came out.

Guest Designer...Sweet Stamps...

Hey,

Happy Friday and welcome to April.

Fun day for me, I am over at Sweet Stamps today as a Guest Designer - they make beautiful digi stamps and I am super excited to be working with two of their fun stamps.

I chose the fun Denise Glam Girl stamp for my first project.

If I have enough time, I like to lay the elements of my card out and see how they will work. Here's a rare photo of that process.

What can you see? A shaker pouch, a card blank, three pieces of card, friend die and sentiment stamp. I basically move all the elements around and try different colour items in there too, just to see what I like.

I chose The Denise stamp because it reminded me of a good friend, so I decided this card should be for her, which meant I considered what colours / things she would like.

I love the girly, but funky feel of the card. I know my friend will love it too

I love digi's, they are great to colour and I get to print a sheet of  them and play around with colours, if they work out ok, I end up with a bunch of coloured digis ready for a later date.

Visit the Sweet Stamps store, to check out Denise and all the other fun stamps and products that are available.

I'll be back soon with my next project for Sweet Stamps.

Have a great weekend.
