Retro Rubber #35 Anything Goes....

Hey,

Welcome to another fabulous Retro Rubber challenge.

Today we have a fave challenge theme...Anything Goes...

I decided to make a shaker card, because I had the shaker pouch (filled with Lucy Abrams and SSS sequins), the aperture card and the card blank together on my desk..

I pulled out my Simon Says Stamp Sparkle & Shine stamp set (from 2014) and stamped two of the sentiments in bright colours and cut them out and affixed them to the card blank in the right positions (this took awhile..)

I decided the aperture piece was boring as it was, so added some purple ink to the newish Dots in Space stamp by Penny Black and touched the card to it, so I got uneven dot coverage, which is what I wanted.

Final touch was to heat emboss the sentiment onto vellum and attached this to the card using mini staples.

Sometimes the best cards are just sitting on your desk waiting to be made :)

Your turn to have a play and show us, but first go over to Retro Rubber and check out the fun things my teammates have made.

Remember to use stamps a year or older and tell us about them to be eligible for the challenge.

The challenge ends on April 8th.

Scrap Cards...

Hey,

I am away on holiday this week with Hubby.

So this is a scheduled post. I am using the time to show you some of the things that I made during the Superstorm when I had an epic weekend at my desk.

I love scraps of paper, but last year I organised them so that I was only keeping sensible scraps that could become something.

I also like to keep sensible die-cut pieces..I'll show more of that tomorrow.

My two cards today are all scraps or items that were kicking around on my desk.

The main card uses a scrap of paper that I used to cut Tim Holtz pattern strip dies from and a scalloped heart that was already punched.  The white square was already die-cut and kicking around on my desk.

I dug out my Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile stamp set and stamped the sentiment using a co-ordinating red ink.

The card blanks for both cards were cut by me from SSS cardkit cardstock (I keep all the cardstock from the kits and cut cardblanks now and then)

This feels like a fun anniversary card, for a fun couple.

The second card was designed around the colour of the card blank, so I used all the same scrap elements as before, but used a purple heart (love that it is corrugated card) I added a patterned square that is an offcut from a Pretty Pink Posh die.

I made this card a birthday card I used the same SSS set for the Happy, but used a fave stamp by Technique Tuesday for the birthday. I deliberately overlapped the words because it felt like real handwriting.

What do you do with your scraps?

Birthdays for boys...

Hey,

So today is my Brother-in-Law's birthday.

I made him a fun card a few weeks back..

I am a teeny bit obsessed right now with the Simon Says Stamp I See You stamp set..

I used it here along with SSS Baby Party Animals sentiment stamps.

Simple, because guys like simple cards LOL.

I see you...

Hey,

During Superstorm Jonas :) I spent oodles of time at my desk.

When I saw the latest Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge -  Anything goes, also had the DT using SSS exclusive products, I knew I had a lovely card all ready for this one that had been made during Superstorm house arrest LOL.

I love SSS exclusive products and have A LOT of them..

I had really wanted to try out heat embossing bright colours onto kraft card, I'd seen it on this blog with the same stamp set and I thought it was really impressive.

I love how my hot pink embossing has come out, it really pops against the kraft card. The glasses and the sentiment stamps are from the Simon Says Stamp October 2015 cardkit.

I mounted this onto a die-cut piece of beautiful Bazzil cardstock from the SSS April 2015 cardkit.

So impactful, so simple..it's going to make a great Valentine's card.

Perfect fit for the challenge and a great use of my SSS products and cardkits.

Cityscape..

Hey,

I'm heading home to NYC later on today.

I thought I'd share this fun card I made for a friend, using a new Studio Calico stamp set (bought during the great BF sales..) and Clearly Besotted stamps for the Happy New Year.

I coloured the image with distress inks and an aquabrush.

Another super quick and easy make.

The card blank was made by me, as I bought a big stack of cardstock from Simon Says Stamp in bright colours so I could make fun card blanks.

I'll be back Monday..tomorrow I will be hanging with Hubby and cheering on my Seahawks in the playoffs..
