WOYWW #206 - First one from NYC, advice needed!

Hi ladies and happy WOYWW - live from NYC :)

Go and visit Julia at Stamping ground if you don't know what WOYWW is!!

So we have arrived in NYC safely. We have moved in to our new apartment, the furchildren made it in one piece, we have internet and some furniture. My desk is a work in progress but I love it!

Before we move on to my desk. I just wanted to ask the USA based WOYWWer's what online sites do you use for purchasing supplies? I am far from ready to do that yet, but I love to browse :)

The main photo today is my desk - it is a bit random, but that is because A) the rest of it has yet to be purchased - this will make more sense in a few weeks, B) majority of my craft stash is in on a ship in the Atlantic - yet to arrive. You can see some bits and bobs from my stash littered around. My new improved desk has space for my laptop and on the top of my shelves you can see some cards that we were given and have been sent since we arrived. You can also see my shiny new 'C' which I bought as a treat from Michaels - yay! I love Michaels

Here are a couple of pics of our apartment = semi-empty!

Archie in the empty living room
Hope to see you next week, looking forward to trawling through some desks today.

  1. Welcome to the states. Hope you love NYC! Here are some sites that I like to browse for supplies and or ideas for supplies: Scrapbooking-warehouse.com, scrapbook.com, Joann.com, and acherryontop.com Those are the ones that have most of the stuff you'd hope to see. There are many others out there now. Google search things you like and you see the sea of all that's available. :) Happy Wednesday! SueC#109

  4. Glad you and the fur balls arrived safely, Claire! Your new desk is going to be fab!! Let's see, online sites: JoAnn's for sure, scrapbook.com, Simon Says Stamp, Papertrey Ink, Ellen Hutson ... I know there are many more, but I'm drawing a blank now ~ that'll get you started.

Also, I think you're familiar with Stampin' Up! since that's worldwide, right? You should check online for your nearest demonstrator to get you linked up with the new catalog.

Thanks for taking the time to come by the Playhouse already. Have a wonderful week unpacking! Darnell #37

  7. Welcome to the States! I am in Ohio and not a blogger, just a desk hopper, but I can give you a couple more ideas about places to order materials from: joggles.com, misterart.com (good but don't always have exactly what you want, you have to watch for the items to come up for sale), dickblick.com and scrapbuck.com; also I've ordered from PaperWishes too, but they tend to be expensive. CheapJoes.com as well. Hope that helps. Good luck in getting everything pulled together to create your craft space and learning about the Big Apple! Thanks for sharing!
