WOYWW #272..this isn't my desk!

Hi,

Hello WOYWWers.

I am at my Parents in London - actually working from their dining table!! As you can see from my photo I have pretty much taken over.

Before we get into that, lets refresh your memories about WOYWW shall we? Join our wonderful Hostess Julia over at her blog Stamping Ground for the weekly desk nose..

So as you can see I have made myself nicely at home at my Parents dining table - I have to work, as I don't have enough holiday and my boss was very kind to let me come for the 2 weddings. You can see my work laptop (after work hours) with a Pinterest board up, notes for work, some new curtains, a Promarker wishlist :). There is also a little stack of craft magazines - which are one of the first things I purchase when arriving back in my homeland - the ones in the US are rubbish, which came as a huge surprise to me.Where are all the free gifts?! And why are they so pricey?! My Ma has been getting her craft on and has been busy recovering the chairs she got for free.

Instead of a card this week, here is a before and after of Ma's chairs - she also made the cushions..think we know why I'm crafty :)

Ma's Chairs - before and after
Happy WOYWW everyone - as I am in the 'correct' timezone this week, I should get to you all in a timely fashion.

  1. I'm on a catch up...not even time to WOYWW this week.....loving the chairs your Ma's recovered and fab material on the cushions (love the colours!) Please say hi to her, I'm waving from the other end of the M4 :) X I smiled at your reference to the craft mags, isn't it funny? When I go over the the US, I come back with ones I buy there - I even have one of them on digital subscription, lol, lots of hugs Carole Z XX

    1. Hi Carole - thanks for the visit. We are waving back at you :) I do have a digital subscription to one US magazine, but I find the paper ones so blah compared to the UK ones. Hope you have a good day Cx

  3. Chair is looking good - love the cushion material so fresh! Funny, I got the cloth/paper/ scissors mag on subscription a couple years ago. Really couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. Seemed to be full of adverts, a lot of magazine for about mildly interesting projects. Each to their own I guess. Have a great Weds, Cindy #32

  4. It's so much fun to get recharged creatively when you travel, and it must be even more so with a creative mom. I'd love to see some of those British craft magazines sometime. Happy WOYWW and Blessings!

  5. It's good to recover things especially as they are often better quality than some new stuff.
i think we are pretty lucky, we have some great craft magazines now though i still subscribe to Somerset Studio, their magazines are great.
Have a good week and happy crafting, Angela x 49

  6. I agree with you about our US magazines, love the freebies from the UK!

The chair looks so fresh and wonderful, a big improvement. :-)

  7. Hi Claire, glad you are having a fab time in London... Ooh I couldn't do without my 'free gift' with the magazines... that is the main reason that I buy them!!!!! :-)))
you were asking about my sentiment labels... they are EK Success Paper Shapers - Layering Punch - Flourish Square. They are ok but sometimes they don't cut properly and I have to cut part by hand which kind of defeats the point of a punch!! but that could be just me - I have weak muscles and arthritis!!
Enjoy the rest of the week!
    Hugs Sue xx
